Chiswick Community School

Chiswick Community School comes from the amalgamation of three schools:[1]

Hogarth's House

The house dates to the late 17th century with a low extension built in the early 18th century.[1] It was the artist's country retreat from 1749 until his death in 1764, and he shared it with his wife, mother-in-law and sister. He also retained his town house in Leicester Square, but that was demolished in 1870.

Chiswick Park tube station

Immediately to the south of the station entrance, on the other side of the road junction, the tracks of the District Line's Richmond branch cross under the road and about 100 m to the east of the station, the eastbound track crosses under the four District and Piccadilly Line tracks on its way towards Turnham Green station.

30 St Mary Axe

On 25 April 2005, the press reported that a glass panel two thirds up the 590 ft (180 m) tower had fallen to the plaza beneath on 18 April. The plaza was sealed off, but the building remained open. A temporary covered walkway, extending across the plaza to the building's reception, was erected to protect visitors. Engineers examined the other 744 glass panels on the building.[19] The cost of repair was covered by main contractor Skanska and curtainwall supplier Schmidlin.[17]

St Mary Axe

The street of St Mary Axe is famous for fronting the Baltic Exchange. Nearby parishes include the medieval Great St Helen's (1210) and the St Ethelburga (14th Century).
